Federation annual Christmas open mic event. This event is open to all and due to length of the event which is a drop in, drop out format (only the organisers are expected to last the full five hours!) everyone who wishes to do so should be able to read for five minutes.

or simply turn up on the day. Poems and stories welcome. A highlight of this year’s event will be the inauguration of the new Makar. The outgoing Makar, Colin Will, will hand over the Makar shield to the incoming Makar, Maggie Rabatski, after reading one or two poems by way of farewell and Maggie herself has been asked to give a short reading to celebrate taking up the role. The inauguration will be at 4.30pm.
Federation publishing arm New Voices Press is pleased to announce that submissions of new poems and prose are now welcome from members. Up to 12 poems of up to 1,000 lines total and/or up to 3 stories (or other creative prose works) of up to 10,000 words in total may be submitted to
